What should I do?

Nothing big just wanted a bit of guidance. Every chritsmas our family like my aunts and uncles etc put money into a pot and its devided equally to buy each child, ie me and my cuosins a present. It comes to like £27.50. Last christmas I gave it to a charity that helps animals. I was going to do the same this year, but my mum wants me to get some clothes vouchers or something instead. I do need some new clothes, its true. My mum and dad have less money now than before, due to a dip in my dads pay. I do get money not from them though. Im wondering if my mum just thinks we I should get it because we are po'

Its a nice thing to do but sounds like your parents dont have that much money, and they just want a bit of it to spent on you? I think that you should get some clothes and im sure your parents will feel good for being able to do that for you

Anyone who is living in poverty and still donating to charity is the model of what a true citizen is. Props for that...

I say do as you want with the money you receive, after all it is your present. If you still need things, get a part time job. Working just saturday or something, by the end of the month you could have £200 quid and thats for just giving up one day in your week. Consider that....

Spend it on yourself, you were talking about casual shirts and jeans in earlier threads, treat yourself.. Christmas only comes once a year.

I have got a steady source of income. So I can buy clothes whenever. Christmas, I feel is now too commercialised. I sit here playing on my computer, loads of food and drink. Got all I need practically. And they say christmas is a time for giving. And it is. People give presents to each other, but to those who dont need it. Think how much money is spent each year on presents to people. Imagine if that to the people in Africa, and all across the world. the ones who really need it. You know? And I wasnt really in poverty last year lol! Nor am I really in poverty now... my parents just have less money
