Murder confession
On October 12, 2004, writer Sam Kellerman (brother of boxing analyst Max Kellerman) was murdered. (His body was found on October 17). Butler was considered a suspect; he had been friends with Kellerman had been friends for ten years.)
On October 20, Butler, accompanied by a lawyer, sought treatment for his alleged bipolar disorder.
Butler was arrested for the Kellerman slaying on October 27, and two days later, he plead not guilty to murder and arson. He was held on $1.25 million bail. Prosecutors claimed that Butler, the only suspect in the case, repeatedly struck Kellerman in the head with a hammer, then torched Kellerman's Hollywood, California apartment in an attempted coverup. (Coincidentally, Butler fought under the nickname "The Harlem Hammer.")
On July 8, 2005, a Los Angeles judge ruled that there was sufficient evidence for Butler to stand trial on the charges of murder and arson.
On March 27, 2006, Butler pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and arson in the 2004 death of Kellerman. On April 5, Butler was sentenced to 29 years, four months in prison by Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor, according to Deputy Public Defender Jack Keenan.
saying hes a scumbag might be the understatement of the year... the video you posted is something that truly makes me angry to watch, i remember being almost sick to my stomach the first time i saw it...
and i dont know who the heck r stevie moore is, but his version of who killed davie moore is nothing compared to dylans..... that guy says its "unrecorded" but you can hear it on "Bob Dylan- Bootleg series Volume 1"
I remember watching this fight when it first aired live. He couldn't do nothing against grant, butler was just waiting and stalking through out the whole fight. Never really put on a rush in attack. And that **** was crazy what he did. But, i still think the jail time he did ****ed him up in the head. Max Kellerman even talked good about Butler later on, only to have his brother killed by butler. I still don't think they should have put him in jail, that was too extreme, Tyson didn't go to jail for his canabalisim. And lets remember this is boxing, its not baseball or other sports where you play a game.
And Dylan actually did sing the song "who killed davy moore" i have the son. The one on youtube sang but the clown is ridicules.
**** that, he should have gone to jail.
That is assault.
I believe he was later arrested for the sucker punch. What a punk. Did you see how he acted like he was going to just pose, with his fist closed as the other guy came to embrace him? May He Rot In Prison!!!
i think he did almost a year for punching grant. i hope he never gets out of prison, dude should be punished to the fullest and he isn't fit for being free, he's too dangerous. that and i think he should've gotten life for killing sam kellerman.
