Default Why does Zuffa have to protect Robbie Lawler?

Why does Zuffa have to protect Robbie Lawler? Lawler is a good fighter, I think? How do we really know how good he really is though unless they put him up against top notch guys. Tiki is a worthy opponent, just not top notch. Same goes for Steve Berger and Aaron Riley. I think we need to see Lawler fight a top guy with a good ground game. We know Lawler has hands but, how is his submission defense and control? I dont know do you? We need to see Lawler against a top ground guy with great submissions, like.... Fabiano Iha. This would be a great fight and be a first round win first one of them. I see Iha submitting hi via arm bar. Until it happens we will never know. I think Zuffa nad the UFC need to let the big dogs out at Lawler!!!!!

Carlos Newton seems to be a good choice. I'd like to see that sometime down the road

Well ... i do not think so, imo, every new fighter should climb his way up slowly, no need to fight the best right away.

I think Zuffas just building him as a fighter and building his rep for a big ppv vs a top guy like newton in the future.

I'd really like to see Newton vs. Lawler, specially after how easily Carlos handled Spratt in his last fight.

IMO, I think Lawler and Iha would be a mismatch. If Caol Uno can knock Iha out, I'd hate to think what Lawler would do to Iha.
