  • Maskaev-Rahman only 60,000 ppv sales

According to a report by Dan Rafael of ESPN.com, Hasim Rahman vs Oleg Maskaev did poorly. The Heavyweight bout generated a live gate of of about $1.7 million.

The PPV numbers weren't very good either. Only about 60,000 pay-per-view subscriptions were sold for the event.

Lol, that was higher than I thought it would be. Still, 60,000x$50=$3,000,000,

I'm sure he's got options on future fights and will get his money back when Maskaev fights Klitschko.

great news. hopefully it will teach the idiots that charged $50 for the fight a good lesson. I doubt we see another type fight like that on ppv again

Well that simply means there are very few people remaining who are still fans of the HW division.

And believe me it will continue to decline especially now that the title holders are non americans.

IF the public knew what a great fight that would be, there would have been many PPV buys.

Most people expected this to be a walk-in-the-park fight for Rahman, so they did not purchase it.

HBO should have made this a BAD fight, not a PPV.
