    What the hell happened to Mike Tyson?

    I've seen many videos of him, and he looked like he had to be the hardest puncher ever to hit boxing. Why did he fly flat then? Was he not smart enough for this sport? He had the muscles, but did he truly have the muscle that was the most important out of all the muscles? Now thats the question that we need answers too. Did his coach dying cause him to forget his boxing ways. His coach who was more than a father to him than his real father.

      his mom died. initially it showed with anger and hate. we saw this when he was a beast and KO'ing everyone early in his carear.

      The only Father figure he had. died too. imagine what that will do emotionally. he no longer had the heart to fight.

      he got put in prison for something he didnt do. he came out and had to bury his best friend.

      towards the end. he was on anti depressants. his anger was no more. end of mike.

      BUT I AM GLAD he isnt hurt, i cant bare to watch boxing, if he ended up brain damaged. like the Gman. that would break my heart as a fan.

        He got rid of his corner: Kevin Rooney, Teddy Atlas and Freddie Roach.....and picked up a bunch of bums and unproven Trainers to take over.....he got rid of every person that had his best interests in mind(and could control him somewhat) and pick up a bunch of people concerned with their own interests.....very sad to see happen.....Tyson needed people to kick him in the behind to keep him in line...he got people that let him do whatever he wanted.....thats the end of Tyson

            He had become a side show of sorts after the loss to Lewis his desire to fight and take punishment and train just wasnt there...His last few fights were cause he had to financially not because he wanted too.. watching him lose was sad cause you can see it in his eyes he didnt want it anymore.

            Mike not boxing anymore is the best thing for him mentally,I hope he finds the peace he is looking for

              Physically, he was given great genes...he was probably, if not, the closest fighter to perfect phsycially...he carried 220lbs of solid muscle that allowed him to have power throught his entire body; giving him power in both hands, incredible speed, good speed in his legs to make up the distance, a great chin, etc. Mentally, he showed signs that he wasn't developed enough to be able to take what he had to go through; on top of that, some, notably Teddy Atlas, said that even when he became a boxer under D'amato, Cus failed to fully teach Tyson how to deal with himself outside of boxing...allowing Tyson to get away with many bad things...but that said, I do remember reading an interview with Tyson saying that Cus told him how he should act/be by teaching lesson(s) in life; But, Tyson said he knew from what Cus taught him that he shouldn't do certain things, but he did it anyway. {since I no longer have the article, don't quote me on it if I am not exactly right }

              The best people to help answer your question are those that new Tyson directly, and of course Tyson himself.

                without getting deep, tyson never had folks around him (except for cus) that valued his life or his career. most were along for the $$$.

                    It was his personal life mainly, there were times where he had so much rage and no skill like in the botha fight and many others. He settled down at various points and fought well (post botha pre nielson he had great technique) He also had his technique back when he fought Williams but we all know what happend there. Against Mcbride he ******ly didn't keep Roach, and he came in out of shape and McBride was also a poor matchup for him.
