As you probably saw since you looked him up on BoxRec, Wyatt has fought his recent fights in West ******ia, with most of them coming at the Mountaineer in Chester (at "The Harv," one of the more amusing arena names).

That area is very blue collar, and the fighters face ham-and-eggers, recycling opponents but almost never stepping up in class at that venue. Instead, they are there to put on a show, to get rid of their opponents as early as possible and to receive cheers from the hometown fans.

Many recognizable names have passed through Chester, including Vernon Forrest, David Tua and Paul Spadafora. But of the home-grown talent, rarely do they get big breaks. Calvin Brock is one of the guys, though, with trainer Tom Yankello by his side. Another is Brian Minto, although I'm not sold on him at all, having watched him get outpointed by Tony Tubbs. Finally, Monty Meza-Clay proved that he had grit and guts beyond what I expected for him to show against a higher level opponent, even though he lost to Edner Cherry.

Wyatt was scheduled last year to face Daniel Santos, but that never came through.

Oh, and don't rely on BoxRec for comfirmed matches, either. There are way too many threads about so-and-so meeting so-and-so on such-a-date when nothing has been confirmed yet.
