key factor to think about with Cotto winning by UD:
    Geale drained down to 155

Key factor to Geale "Trouting" Cotto
Geale able to come in at the 160 lb limit

Lets not forget in MSG so that favors Cotto el Joto

I am curious to see if Cotto pulls his catch weight BS in his first title defense. The middleweight limit has been 160 pounds for 100 years. Then along comes Oscar De La Hoya, Martinez and Cotto and the middleweight limit is whatever the fighters decide it is. I think that's wrong no matter who is doing it. If the world middleweight title is on the line then both fighters should be allowed to weigh in at 160 and the same goes for all other weight classes.

Is the fight signed? Announcement been made? Have details of the fight been released?

        No?

Then this poll is premature, like all the other Cotto threads recently. Cotto fans shoot their load really early it seems. Their significant others must really be disappointed in their sex lives.

It wasn't Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, nor Cornelius 'K9' Bundrage, much less the Argentine Jorge Sebastian Heiland.
The Puerto Rican middleweight champion Miguel Angel Cotto will defend his World Boxing Council's crown on June 6 at the Barclays Center in New York against Australian Daniel Gaele in a fight that will be broadcast on HBO.
This was confirmed by the working group holder 160 pounds who formalized the announced shortly.
Cotto began a week doing her homework in the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles hand trainer Freddie Roach.
It will be a voluntary defense of the belt he won last June 7, 2014 by defeating the then king Argentine Sergio 'Maravilla' Martinez.
Cotto and Gaele face-off will be on Wednesday during a press conference at the Barclays Center where they will announce the clash.
It will be the first time that Cotto fight on the novel arena in Brooklyn after making nine of his ten fights in New York at the legendary Madison Square Garden.
It will also be the first fight Cotto related to its new promotional deal with the company Roc Nation Sports, owned by rapper Jay Z.
Cotto and Roc Nation recently announced their partnership in which the Puerto Rican guaranteed a purse of $ 50 million for his next three fights.
The agreement to fight Gaele, who is ranked sixth in the WBC; seventh in the WBA; eighth in the IBF and WBO fourth, could also be tied to the possibility that Cotto in September fights the Mexican Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez with whom negotiations broke earlier this year.
'Canelo' Alvarez will face James Kirkland on May 9 in Texas.
Gaele, 34, was the fighter with the Kazakh champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin debuted in the main arena of MSG in New York in July 2014.
Golovkin, who has since been referred to as his dearest Cotto fight, Geale dispatched to 2:47 of the third assault.
The Australian, who improved to 31-3 and 16 knockouts, comes from Jarrod Fletcher beat by unanimous decision in December. It is a good offensive fighter but lasted little Golovkin, hinted some of the weaknesses of Kazakhstan.
Cotto is 39-4 and 32 knockouts, and has been world champion five times, four of them in different divisions.

Interesting how GGG fought Geale at MSG and Cotto takes the smaller Barclay Center. I thought Cotto was the bigger draw?

Anyone know what the puzzy catchweight will be?
