I think Angulo suffers from some kind of depression--I don't think it was fixed

People are saying they think the fight was fixed. But my thing is this. Angulo was crying uncontrollably on several occasions leading into the fight. He just seemed really sad all the time like he was depressed or something.

Secondly, people are saying they didn't think Angulo was "trying" to hit Canelo hard; but ask yourself, when Angulo dropped Kirkland and Lara, all three knockdowns looked like Angulo barely put any power into it. Angulo's punches have always looked like they weren't hard, but we would just see the after effects of his opponents crumbling.

Overall, I don't think the fight was fixed. I think Angulo suffers from some kind of depression and wasn't mentally there last night. Regarding him trying to punch Canelo with intense velocity, his punches looked like the same punches he always throws; except Canelo took them very well.

All in all, my hat off to Canelo. He actually fought someone his own size in his own division and looked very good. I don't think he beat Angulo as convincingly as Kirkland did, but he looked pretty damn good last night. My hats off to the young boy. Hopefully he continues to build off this win and add on to his legacy.

Angulo looked lethargic in there. If you watch any of his videos against Kirkland or Lara, from the first round he was far more active and put on far more pressure. He looked like he took Valium right before he stepped in there. I wasn't rooting for anyone in particular, but that was so disappointing.

you would be depressed too if golden boy/cartels had your family in an underground bunker awaiting execution if you slip up and win the fight. i hope the government gives him immunity and he comes forward and exposes them all.

Canelo looked good and proved himself a legit top guy around the weight class. Kirkland stopped Angulo too and really beat him down. But Canelo did beat Angulo down over the course of the fight, and Angulo never really troubled Canelo too much. But Angulo really troubled Kirkland in their fight and almost stopped him.

I really want to see Canelo vs Lara. That's a fight that needs to happen.

Lara has beaten Williams, Trout, Angulo, and should have beaten Vanes as well. While Canelo has beaten Trout and Angulo. They clearly are the two best at the weight aside from Mayweather, and maybe Molina.

That being said, if Lara and Ishe fight in May, I highly highly doubt Canelo and he fight in July.

Canelo will probably fight Molina if he can get his legal issues fixed. And I'm cool with that fight. Molina has arguably beaten Lara, Kirkland, and Ishe. He's legit.

You're saying he's depressed? He was crying a lot when talking about his daughter

                Good post!!!

                Adding to that ....

That was by far, the worst I have ever seen Angulo perform in a fight. He was lethargic, seemingly uninterested, displayed no energy and really no desire to fight. I'm not going to go so far as to state that the fix was in, but that was not the same Angulo. Virgil Hunter, with his somewhat questionable corner conversations could do little to snap Angulo out of his funk. So, I'm willing to accept that there were some forces at work that Angulo couldn't overcome. And whatever it was, it sapped all his energy.

Having to fight Canelo when you're not there mentally, or physically is a daunting task. No wonder the fight played out as it did.

Canelo on the other hand, fought as expected post Floyd. He came out with a lot of energy and desire to bring the pain, and he was very sharp. And contrary to the silly counter-points ... I think now is the right time to take Lara up on his challenge.

Not the fight I expected at all, thanks to a very subdued Angulo -- Who gave his very best interpretation of a walking stiff.

i felt sorry for him in the corner, virgil was trying to get him pumped up and he sounded like a dog whimpering. canelo beat the **** out of him, angulo i hope he can recover. if the fight was allowed we may be talking about him retiring for good

                    He should be happy now.

He got what for most boxers is a career high payday.

He can get therapy for his emo-ness, and still provide for his family.
