Comments Thread For: Lomachenko's Manager: Rigondeaux Talk is Premature

Egis Klimas, the manager of two-time Olympic gold medal winner Vasyl Lomachenko (1-0, 1KO), says a potential fight with Guillermo Rigondeaux (13-0, 8KOs), also a two-time Olympic gold medal winner, is very premature to discuss.

On March 1, Lomachenko will attempt to capture a world title in only his second pro bout, when he faces dangerous WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido.

If Lomachenko can beat Salido convincingly, they should go ahead and make this fight if possible.

Why feed Lomachenko to Rigondeaux so early it will give Rigo bragging rights but not much else gonna be won from winning this fight so early in the dude's career.

Boxing better becareful not to become like the UFC by ruining potential great fighters by putting them in too deep too soon. Why make this fight already? Let Lomachenko develop some more, Rigo as well. In not talking 5 years build up, but give the youngan a few more fights first. Don't need to see the best potential fights "right away". Sometimes it's better to let things marinate and build momentum before serving it to the public.

These two are not going to fight because Rigondeaux doesn't wana go to featherweight plus if he ever does Lomachenko will probably be at super featherweight by then. Plus the curiosity to watch them fight is only there because of their amature accomplishments but if they were to fight Lomachenko would need to have gathered a lot more experience from very solid opponents to be competative with Rigo.

these two are never going to fight, lamachenko already said himself he's not going down in weight and now someone else is saying it too,he will do his own thing and probably win championships and be a better fighter and bigger than rigo,so he wont really need him,i think his style if more appealing to hbo too,but lets see how he handles salido first

I was agreeing with him till he took a couple cheap shots at rigo's style !!!! He's spectacular , just not appreciated ... When u fight 12 rounds and get hit as little as rigo does , it's pretty spectacular .....
