Post Comments Thread For: Bryant Jennings on a Potential Wladimir Klitschko Fight

Heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings understands that American fight fans are frustrated with the lack of action in the upper levels of the division.

HBO's interest in the division appears to be growing with their decision to broadcast fights between Jennings and Artur Szpilka and also Mike Perez's clash against Carlos Takam on their first two fight cards of 2014.

It appears that HBO would like to pair the winners of those fights against each other. Especially if Jennings and Perez, who are the favorites to win, come out with victories. I asked Jennings what he thought about a potential fight with Perez, the next generation of heavyweight contenders and his thoughts on HBO's renewed interest in the division.

I think what Jennings means to say is that he knows if he were to fight Vlad, he would be severely beaten for a few rounds then knocked out but he would be handsomely compensated for his trouble.which hehas no problem with.

Perez is the heavyweight prospect to watch at the moment. He has skills and appears to have a solid chin. Looking forward to seeing what kind of noise he makes.

Irish mike perez ia pretty good, because Mago was not a walkover fight. Tuff to say what Mago's injuries will do to Mike perez's mental game in the future. But Bryant jwnning is the goods. He always comes in phenominal shape which is the real battle. Mike perez is durable also so - Artur Szpilka is not that bad, he can box - I think he will be too brave for his own good against Jennings. A guy likw jennings you have to out experience him. You wull not out huatle him or win the war of attrition, you have to comw in your best shape and have a better ring IQ - Jennings has only about 20 fights under him, but by saying that its he has been in with better opposition than Wilder and has faced more different looks, and has gone way more rounds - Wilder is like 30 and 0 with like 33 eounds under his belt (his ass is gonna be in some trouble soon as he steps it up -sad)

Aye, Perez and Jennings look promising. Its good to see HWs with some confidence; most fighters fold before getting in the ring with Wladimir.

Perez and Jennings are the two most overhyped HW's in the division. Neither has beaten a top 20 HW to date, and both have had problems in beating the lesser competition they have faced. In addition, neither has the size to be highly successful in the modern division. Perez is at least hyped because of a gutsy entertaining performance, Jennings is just hyped because he's American. They are not the future of the division, they'll never even be legit top 10 HW's.

I'd make a wager on that. Jennings is showing more skills than most of the top 10 already and improving his comp steadily.

Jennings, we'll see what he's made of in the Szpilka fight...

But Perez is the real deal. He's fought and sparred guys like current Cuban cruiserweight champ Yoan Pablo Hernandez and trained with some of the best amateurs in the world, Olympic medalists like Kenny Egan and Odlanier Solis.

The thing is, Mago was on his way up.. he was blowing out dudes, some who'd never even touched the canvas before. What Perez did to him was shocking. Nobody had ever done that to Mago. Perez took his best shots, displayed a superior skillset, and wore him down over 10 rounds, literally putting him in a coma. Mago almost lost his life.

Perez is a serious threat to anyone in the HW division.

I rate Perez highly,I don't believe Jennings is on his level.that said,I still think highly of him.he is a test for any of the top guys who appear contenders at this stage.he has more questions marks over him than Perez though,Perez has been in with Mago who we know was a real puncher.

Agreed.

Perez has power, skills to match if not better the entire divisions challengers, desire,a real hunger and will to win, unlike Solis and some of the other fatties who display no discipline whatsoever.

I like Perez and Jennings,I don't believe we'll see them paired though,if they were to fight, the winner would be worthy of a Wladimir or WBC champion match up.
