Thomas Damgaard Beats Arturo Gatti- prediction

Thomas Damgaard Wins tomorrow over Gatti.

Damgaard boasts an undefeated record (37 Wins, 27 by KO)along with extensive pro and amateur experience (over 200 fights).

This will be Gatti's first move up to the new weight class, and Damgaard is very strong even for a welterweight. Gatti's condition is so questionable that he shouldn't be favored against any skillful lightweight, let alone a plausible welterweight. Look for Damgaard to back Gatti up, work the body, and either stop him late from an accumulation of blows or emerge with a unanimous-decision victory.

Gatti vs Damgaard Statistics - click

"I am bigger than Gatti, I'm stronger and I can punch. And I'm coming to fight." -Damgaard

Damgaard, who will be backed by about 100 fans making the trip from Denmark, is hoping to win the pro-Gatti crowd over with his style. The 34-year-old southpaw is known as an aggressive, relentless boxer who seldom takes a backward step during a bout.

So far, that approach has worked out well. His undefeated record includes notable wins over Greg Haugen, Philip Holiday and former European junior-welterweight champion Khalid Rahilou.

"Thomas is not a very technical fighter, but he's strong and powerful," said Damgaard's trainer, Paul Duvill. "Gatti probably thinks this is going to be an easy fight, but we are going to make it very tough for him."
