  • [VIDEO] Nathan Cleverly/Frank Warren Press Conference + Interview

Cleverly gets unfair criticism. He has been shafted out of fights with Braemer, Hopkins, Froch and Shumenov already and now it looks like he might not get the Kovalev fight.

Cleverly has agreed to it. The ball is in Kovalev's court

This would be a great action packed fight if it happens. Cleverly deserves credit for taking on the most dangerous guy in the division imo.

          Sign the contract, Kovalev!

Fair play to them, they're going after the beast. Personally I don't think Cleverly needs that fight at 26 y/o but it's clear he's taking all the insults about his record to heart. He wants to be a Carl Froch, not a Joe Calzaghe.

warren knows kovalev is looking at a shot at the ibf belt or hopkins so he's making a calculated risk that kovalev won't accept until that is sorted. in the meantime warren will bring in a bum before that and say "we tried to get kovalev." let's hope kovalev forgets the ibf and beats up the fraud but that's unlikely. kovalev's going after the big fish.

Negotiations with Kovalev would have been entered into some time ago, i.e. before Warren could have known Murat-Hopkins, the original mandatory, was off.

I think this time it was Warren's genuine intention to have Cleverly fight Kovalev.

possibly, maybe warren hates cleverly and wants to see him beaten to a pulp. maybe warren put down a huge bet on kovalev. you never know with him.

Yeah because Warren had advanced knowledge that Murat vs Hopkins would be cancelled and the IBF would make Kovalev the mandatory
