How Many Rounds will Trout need to get a win over Canelo?
As Canelo is expected to have a major showdown with Mayweather in September, the question remains will the WBC influence the judges in the Trout contest?
My best guess is that if Trout wins eight rounds instead of 116-112 win, he gets a 114-114 draw to keep his WBA title. He likely will need nine rounds to win the match.

At least 8 to tie, 9 if he gets knocked down. 10 at least for a win.
I lean towards Trout who's more proven against cotto who is still world class. I think Alvarez can make a fight of it. But most likely alavarez robbery.

Without being knocked down or having any points taken away, he would need 7

Canelo will land the harder and more thudding blows. Trout would have to win 9 rounds convincingly without taking too much punishment.

9 and up. Historically, whenever a "money" fighter has a huge upcoming fight, they'll do everything in their powers to give it to him.
9 and up. I guarantee you, if Trout wins most of the rounds, you'll here, "Canelo landed the harder shots." "The judges don't have the same view as the TV audience." "You had to be there, to actually hear the shots Canelo landed, it's different when you're there live."
9 and up, bank on it.
