How is this even a question? Quintana couldn't hold Vargas' jock strap.....

Is there a reason for the thread?

Tito tko12 Vargas obviously. Vargas was at least the #2 champ at the weight (154) and had already beaten guys like Quartey, Campas and Winky.

Quintana was a contender coming off a victory between unbeaten prospects with Joel Julio. Cotto's was more dominant, but Tito's was more quaility.

Vargas seemed damaged after that fight with Trinidad, while Quintana had gone on to better things after Cotto. However, Vargas had accomplished much before fighting Tito, but did get popped for PEDs against DLH. Trinidad had the better victory, but it didn't age too well.

just one person? hardly validates a thread...

well, there are a great many superfluous threads here, but i don't make many of them, so i'm giving myself a pass.

half of the reason for the thread is that i'm genuinely curious to see if many others hold the view that Quintana is as good a win as Vargas. wanna see what the ratio of clueless to basically knowledgeable fans is here.

I think the Vargas that fought Trinidad would win every round from Cotto and KO Cotto within 6 rounds. Vargas would only need a round or two to KO Quintana in my opinion. Trinidad and Vargas were two of the best ever at 154 and a class above Cotto. Vargas was never as good after the Trinidad fight but he was a monster going into that fight. I think Vargas would have defeated De La Hoya if he had fought him before he fought Trinidad.
