USADA is not a business, but rather a non-profit organization that is affiliated with the US government. VADA is also a non-profit organization. The report about Mayweather failing 3 tests is nothing but pure rumor since USADA has already published the test results for each of his fights since Mosley. And not only did Floyd's tests come back negative, but also his opponents (Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto).

USADA does have a great reputation and it also has a privacy policy that is unique with every entity they are employed with.

Boxing is the only sport where the promoter (not the comissioner) employs USADA, and if usada report the findings to any one else they will be in-breach of there contract.

Everyother sport has a governing body that over sees the sport and employs usada. What boxing does is equivelent to say kobe byrant manager wanting lebron tested for steriods only and forgetting every one else.

I agree. With both VADA and USADA, there is a conflict of interest whenever the promoter or even the fighter themselves pay for the testing. Even though this conflict of interest exists, we have to remember that random drug testing is boxing is still very new. And it's not done all across the board. Mistakes will be made. Let's hope things improve.

also, any drug testing agency who deals directly with a promoter or a fighter is questionable for me.
wtf is wrong with this forum. very uninformed. in fact it's almost as if some people like to uniform themselves on purpose around here.

both usada & vada have no say in the commission nore the events. what both of these companies do is make tests public to the world & thats where it ends (further action can be taken such as the ban but that could take months) usada let GBP (and the world) know that erik tested positive. GBP downplayed the test & refused to give up their date. (what does that have to do with usada?) usada doesn't control the events nore the commission (they haven't invested any money in the actual event. he who's invested in the event has the say on what happens to the event. which is GBP) usada did their job by publicizing the negative test to the entire world.

if usada wanted to be quiet or hide eriks test you wouldn't have heard anything in till after the fight. (in fact you probably wouldn't have heard anything at all)

i mean wtf............

VADA coz of what happened last year... USADA throw samples instead of preserving it and USADA hide the results to the commission while VADA is transparent to the governing body on which the fight will take place...

well put. This is a great start and eventually a standard/precedent will be created and that will be the norm for testing but for right now we are in the testing phase and mistakes will happen.

wtf are you? dumb? Do you know why they do the testing in this kind of sport? to prevent athletes from cheating and preventing them to gain advantage during the fight! that advantage may cause serious damage to the fighter but looks liKE USADA dont care as long as they are getting paid? While VADA have a strong policy that obliged them to send results immediately to the governing body. This is the reason why PEDterson and Berto fights got canceled coz the commission have the first hand of the result and they were able to act fast. Get it???

Have you read VADA's policy? Especially there policy around the time of the Peterson scandal? The first person to know that Peterson tested positive was Peterson himself! The Commission and Promoter were clueless until a couple or so weeks before the actual fight. Peterson knew about his positive test result for more than a month before everyone else knew, and that was with VADA. And Peterson also threatened VADA that they better shut their goddamn mouth up too or he'd sue them! Look it up.

The problem here, like indicated above, is that there is a conflict of interest with both VADA and USADA testing since the boxing commission and the testing agencies aren't working together with one another.

Exactly.

Ultimately NYSAC made the call to sanction the event.

USADA held a teleconference with everyone involved - NYSAC, GBP, Morale's camp, Garcia's camp, etc. Everyone was brought up to date.

Blame NYSAC if you're looking to point fingers. USADA had zero say in whether the fight went on or not.

lets talk about peterson.........

petersons ***8220;A***8221; results were reported back to VADA on April 12. but wasn't made public in till March 19. (that debunks your vada "immediately" lets the commission know about a positive test) vada didn't inform anyone for over a month. not even keith kizer.

& everyone knows that NSAC has very strict rules. you fail a test thats it........Nevada is the capital of boxing. coupled with that fact that khan wasn't gonna fight peterson anyway (after finding out about that positive test) it was a no brainer.
