1st round Julio knocked Kanyo down with a huge counterabout 1:30ish. Kanyo got up at 7, almost knocked down again with about 20 seconds left. Domination by Julio.

Unbeaten welterweight bomber Joel Julio (26-0, 23 KOs) scored a devastating knockout over jr middleweight Robert Kamya (15-6, 5 KOs) Friday night at Cicero Stadium in Cicero, Illinois. Julio, rated WBC/WBO #8, WBA #11, floored Kamya with a counter right hand in round one and dropped him for the count in the third. A crushing Julio left hook at 1:32 ended Kamya's night. On this night, Julio looked to have the stuff of a future champion.

            *********...

So it looks like Julio could be for real huh? How is this kid in comparison to Bojado (I've never seen Julio fight before).

Do you guys remember what it was like to watch Miguel Cabrera as a 20 year-old hitting in the playoffs. Julio gives you that same feeling of a 20 year old athlete that makes you gush over what his future just might be. My $11 for the month was well worth it by Julio's fight alone (although the undercard fight was pretty dramatic too)

I enjoyed the fight, but Farhood is making him sound like the second cumming of Jeebus.

The kid definitely has a LOT of power, and he shows more patience than Bojado did, but Bojado was matched much tougher much earlier in his career.

                    Things I liked:
                    • Power to spare
                    • Patience
                    • Good awareness
                    • Good movement
                    • Knows when to punch most of the time
                    Things I didn't like:
                    • Has definitely been padding the record against subpar opposition
                    • Reaches a lot with his punches
                    • Half or more of his punches are thrown from waist level
There are quite a few things that he needs to work on before he steps up. If he were thrown in the ring against a top welterweight or jr middleweight any time soon, I think he would likely get eaten alive because of the bad habits I've seen tonight.
