The Anti-Capitalist/Soscialistic message in the "Man of Steel" movie
So I went and watched the Superman movie... expecting nothing but a good ol' superhero action packed flick but I couldn't help but notice the overtones of Anti-Capitalist, leftist/progressive/socialist implications.
I picked up on this mainly when Superman's biological father told him about planet Krypton using up all of their resources and that he should help Planet Earth not to make the same mistake. Hints of Global Warming/Climate change/radical environmentalism were duly noted.
They tried to disguise this by pretending to be moderate/centrist in having Russel Crowe's character reject Planet Krypton's Totalitarian Dystopia where every citizen's profession is chosen for them at birth. As if saying...."see we're not far-left progressives, we like Capitalism and freedom...we're moderate like Obama (yuck). We're against Authoritarianism and Totalitarianism."
Whatever happened to the 1980's Reagan Era, fun flick without all the far-left ideology? Keep it clean...with an All-American, freedom loving, patriotic, superhero, dressed in red, white and blue voluntarily saving the day... for free (I disagree, personally I would charge them a fee for every chaos/disaster prevented and in the long run it would be a lot cheaper for them, then all the infrastructure spending, rebuilding of houses if I hadn't stepped in... but that's just me).
