I loved him as a fighter. He had some excellent skills and a tremendous right hand. He was gonna get you with that right or you were gonna reach that china of his and get to him. All tall and thin fighters are compared to Thomas Hearns, and Mayweather may have come the closest to duplicating him.

I loved his KO of the Ray Leonard-handled super prospect, Kenny Baysmore.

I saw him fight live at the Olympic in LA against one of the Bejines brothers, maybe Oscar? This is when he was fighting a lot in LA, beating some top Mexican fighters and calling himself the Mexican Assassin. Good card, also featured Azabache Martinez and Marcos Villasana in other bouts.
