Ricky Burns spent a week training at minus 16 in frozen Norway preparing for what he believes will be the "hottest" night of his career when he takes on Mexico's IBF champion Miguel Vazquez in their unification fight at Wembley Arena on March 16.
The WBO lightweight champion travelled to Trondheim earlier in the month to spar with Andreas Evensen, who he beat almost three years ago in the first defence of his super-featherweight title before moving up a division, and was taken aback at the cold conditions when going for his daily run. Ironically, Burns' press conference on Thursday morning in a Mexican restaurant in Glasgow saw him gamely undertake 'a chilli challenge' but afterwards he recalled an unusually bitter start to his preparations.
