I hope they take it to save us the pain of a Donaire-Rigo fight.
If Golden Boy sticks with it, they're going to lose money. Lets say they pay Mares 2 million, how the hell will they come up with 5 million dollars? Hell, 4 million would also be crazy. Berto with Al Haymon doesn't even get those type of paydays. The Berto-Ortiz rematch was pretty much a record high for Showtime at $3 million dollars for both fighters to split. Now we're talking $5 million for two jr featherweights who are pretty ****ty ratings draws?
Golden Boy has a way out by wanting to include a rematch clause or trying to get some options on Donaire, which he knows Top Rank won't allow.
