Tony is a f@cking nobody. Hes slow. Wouldnt even be able to catch mayweather and mayweather has the stamina to fight 12 rounds. Tony is THE biggest myth to ever live on boxingscence. He's a cheater with a **** 8 loss resume.

This premise makes no sense. Why was 2009 any colder of a year than 2007?

by the time floyd retired in 2008 he had already defeated 7 potential HOFERs..

the usual suspects are spouting the same crap they've been peddling since 2008.. the facts are:

floyd was in his fourth weight class..not first but FOURTH

lol at kostya ducking claim floyd was in no position to duck a legend like kostya it wouldve made him his biggest career pay day and helped his lacking of fans.

thats how u know most these guys dont know anything before pac fought dela hoya ,floyd at that time wasnt a star in fact id say he was a bit on the donaire side not a star but a fight fan favorite.

it wouldve been like donaire ducking ****ing arce. to cotto is where i side with his haters floyd shouldve at least tried to make the fight happen before retiring i understand the top rank excuse but he couldve went after the fight.

but marg and pwill were nothing to duck just mythical legends on bscene.

Heavily disagree. None of those fighters are ATG's and Cotto is the only possibility that has a shot at the HOF. They are all just simply solid wins to add on to a resume.

It would of made his resume looked better but I still wouldn't rank him high on an ATG welterweight list or any higher than he is now overall.

People act like he ducked Duran, Hagler and Hearns.

Mosley was still very good at that time, and he called Floyd out on ESPN in 2007. There were people like Margarito, prime Cotto, Clottey (who beat the former Floyd opponent Corrales), and Paul Williams.

Did Floyd "retire" to avoid those guys?

Floyd made Hatton move up to 147 and fight in his hometown, but Floyd would never consider moving up a weight division and fighting Vernon Forrest.
I dont think he wanted to fight Oscar again. He beat Oscar by a split decision and I dont think he wanted that rematch.

No, it was still fairly hot at 147.

That's why Floyd fought a lightweight when he came back that fall.
