Anyone good with computers here?

My laptop recently stopped working. When I hit the power button I can hear the fan go on and is start up and the screen will go on but it will just stay blank. I'm not sure what the deal is with it and would appreciate any help.

Your screen could be broken, or there's an issue with the operating system that's preventing it from running properly.

Can you bring up a start menu or anything?

Is it giving you anything when you turn it off and turn it back on? Starting up, loading Windows, whatever?

What do you mean the screen "will go on"? Do you see the backlight of the screen? Do you see a screen similar to this?

Give this a try

Remove the Battery
unplug the AC power cord
Hold the bower button in for 10-15 seconds

PLug the AC back in and attempt to power it up
If it boots, you are all set. Then reconnect the battery

This step will drain the capacitors on the motherboard and allows it to reset. It sometimes works and is worth a shot

If your laptop has a HDMI port connect that to a TV via HDMI and use the TV as the screen.

Nah, it is weird the screen lights up but it stays black and the computer itself doesnt boot up. Sometimes it will randomly start up fine when I turn it on, but usually nothing happens.

The screen lights up black but no text or anything shows up it just stays black and doesnt boot up.
