The object isn't the problem, American's need to look in the mirror and as why 2012 America is such a sick society.

Guns were easier to get in the 50's and guys didn't go around shooting up schools all the time. The quality of the population has decreased. Blaming an object is deflecting personal responsibility.

If you repeat that over and over again, people believe it to be true. I think the debate has moved to, not whether we should have guns but what types of guns we should be allowed to have and let's regulate them.

Agreed. Thats why i was saying assault weapons. But we dont know what this guy was using yet do we?

My argument isnt even that all guns should be banned. But if a person believes they need an arsenal to overthrow the government one day, i doubt he just has a hand gun in mind.

I don't know much about guns. But I know they're used for sports, like hunting. Okay do you really need an assault rifle like that to kill deers and rabbits? And isn't a Bolt Action Rifle good enough to kill a bear?

This kid (son of one of the teachers -he killed her first) used 2 handguns and an assault rifle.

by definition "assault" rifles have a full auto option. The colorado shooter used an Ar 15 which only has a semi auto option, meaning you have to keep pulling the trigger to fire off a round. They look like the m4 that the military uses because its basically the same gun w/out the fully auto option.

Nobody hunts w/ fully auto though because its not accurate. Even the military prefer semi auto, but they have the option for obvious tactical reasons.
