Where Im going with this is that history has always and will always repeat itself. Sure you get a bunch of college profs locked up in their university talking applied social philosophy and they come up with some retarded ass anti armament ideas. They dont live in the real world. You ever had your car jacked home broken into? I have and being able to defend yourself is the difference between losing your possesions or your life and keeping them. Only tyrants want to disarm the people. Lovers of freedom and justice want an armed and trained society.

Great quotes, but they're entirely pointless in regards to modern militaristic might. I don't think any of those guys had any idea what a stealth bomber, predator drone, or nuclear bomb was capable of.

But more power to you if you think that Uncle Sam would back down from your Glock 17 or pump-action 12 gauge.

Yeah those bombers have done a great job at stopping the violence in Afganistan. If their were some attack of that meassure on American citizens for defending their 2nd amendment rights do you think that would weaken or strengthen peoples resolve? The government is not going to nuke, bomb, or mass casualty it's own people.
The military is not made up of a bunch of clones and faceless people like in Star Wars.
If that order was given nobody would obey it. It's part of the code of military conduct that we only obey lawful orders.

Obviously they're not going to now, but if you really think that they wouldn't if millions of armed citizens were rising up to overthrow them then we're just going to have to disagree.

Regardless, that will never happen anyway because as long as everybody in this country has a latte and wi-fi access to check their facebook account on their smartphone nobody will ever do d*ck.

I'm merely pointing out how absurd the argument is that a private citizen-run militia would be able to overthrow the most powerful military force this planet has ever, and will ever see.

I just received my magazine from the NRA and I always read this section first, different stories of armed citizens that still have their lives because of their legal firearms, these are the stories that never make it to the media...

I'm reading US gun owners are now saying armed guards should have been posted on the school entrances. Elementary schools with armed guards? When Dunblane happened here in 96 we banned people from owning handguns, that's what sane society's do.

I know for a fact they wouldn't these nukes and weapons don't fire themselves. Politicians don't know how to operate them. Guess who would be expected to carry out the slaughter of the civilians? You think the military is going to kill their families, friends, and fellow citizens?

Any weapon is only as good as the person using it. The US has the strongest military not because of technological superiority but because of the proficiency and discipline of the men manning the machinery.
