Alfredo Angulo was one win away from potentially fighting for a major belt in the 154 lb division. He came close to achieving that goal in the first minute of his eventual six-round war with James Kirkland last November, putting the southpaw down and nearly out with a right hand.

Kirkland averted disaster and the rest is history. Angulo suffered a sixth-round knockout, though what he went through in 2012 was far worse. The Mexican slugger spent seven months in El Centre Detention Center in California, a trip that began with honest efforts to clear up an expired visa to stay in the United States, before he was finally released this past August.

AA needs 2 bolster his defense, even a little , but most important build his stamina, that's what really hurt him vs Kirk...he could take Alvarez...

Angulo/Kirkland and Ortiz/Berto were the two most electric fights in 2011. I would love to see both of those rematches in 2013.

After Lara's performance against Vanes, I think he beats him too. I'd love for Perro to rematch Kirkland and the winner of that gets Canelo. I know that's a little far fetched though lol

Would love to see a championship fight with saul canelo alvarez but I don't think oscar wants to put him in with that beast angulo just yet or myself and the rest of the boxing world wouldn't mind seeing another showdown with kirkland I know angulo wants to avenge that as well.
