Edinburgh’s John Thain returns to action on December 8th at the Meadowbank Sports Centre, looking to improve on his unbeaten record. The popular Light Middleweight (8-0) will fight for the first time since featuring on the undercard of Ricky Burns’ successful title defence against Englishmen Kevin Mitchell at the SECC in Glasgow. Although his opponent is yet to be confirmed, Thain is relishing the opportunity nonetheless.

Scottish 154Lb champion Ciaran Duffy's not fought for 2 years now, so is it time for the BBBofC to strip him of the title & declaire it vacant so as the likes of John Thain can fight for it? As for Thain fighting in the Philippines, I think it's a fantastic idea & should happen sooner rather then later.

Good prospect, quick hands, excellent workrate. Would be good to see him develop some power, he's more of a volume puncher right now.
