Broner would have been scared sh**less of Valero as well, and that's if he would have even had the balls to get in the ring with him. I think that Broner is one of the most athletically gifted fighters we have in the sport today, and I'll tell you right now he will have absolutely no issues with DeMarco. But that boy would not have been brushing his hair or making marriage proposals after a fight with Edwin Valero lol

The only emulation is the stance and rolling 'attempts'. Broner is far more offensive than little floyd and it has lots to do with the fact that his defense actually isn't that good. He gets touched a lot.

OK.what am I missing here? His defense is not that good in comparison to who? how many fighters broner's age evsn have legit defense? If ur comparing him to floyd, theres ur problem. With that said, the kid is defensively responsible for a fighter who fights with his style. I mean hes not a defense first fighter. So why the hell is everyone analyzing him like he is? U guys are getting carried away with the floyd comparisons. In his last few fights, broner has employed a come forward, tank like, walk them down style. He does this without taking many punches and under a tight guard, whether its high or shoulder roll. Hes not floyd. Hes not trying to avoid hits for picture perfect counters. Thats what he used to do. Hes changed. Hes essentially a perssure fighter with a good guard, power, who picks his shots wisely. He is not floyd mayweather. Never will be. But that doesnt mean his style doesnt have its merits.

He's an offense first fighter, with a tight guard who can walk people down, but also avoid some punches at the same time.
Floyd is the best defensive fighter in his era, and the best since Pernell Whitaker. Broner is responsible defensively, but he isn't as defensive minded as Floyd is a lot of times. The problem is comparing the two at all. |
