Manny Pacquiao stepped out of the ring today and on to the blacktop ... where he took on TWO basketball legends at the same damn time.

TMZ has obtained a photo of Manny ballin' around with NBA gods Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller.

We're told the guys had been training all day long -- including a trail run in Griffith Park -- before they decided to hit a local court for a shootaround session.

Was always going to happen, as long as the fight is on HBO PPV since TNT is part of Time Warner like HBO plus it makes sense to promote a fight to sports fans and the NBA is what they have.

Barkley and Reggie will probably big up the fight though, I know Barkley is a big fight fan because he complains when there is a fight on and he has to work and Miller uses a lot of boxing metaphors.
