It’s been almost three months since Danny Garcia’s thrilling upset over Amir Khan. Inside of the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Garcia overcome a slow start by dropping Khan with a wicked left hook in the third round while finishing off one frame and two knockdowns later.
For Garcia, the tough Philadelphian claimed the WBA junior welterweight title to go along with the WBC bauble he already held and he is presently eyeing a rematch with Erik Morales later this month at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Khan’s momentum has come to a lull, however, as the Garcia setback came on the heels of his controversial split-decision loss to Lamont Peterson this past December. Sensing that a change in his team was in order, the 25-year old British star parted ways with renowned trainer Freddie Roach in mid-September and would later announce that Oakland’s Virgil Hunter will be serving as his new coach. I don't know that I'd pick Khan over Alexander, at least not with much confidence. It'd be a really competitive fight. I thought Devon looked very good against Maidana and it's a shame his career has been slightly held up by the Bailey fight.

What Rodney said about Khan is what I've been saying. We share the same opinion on him. He has an Achilles heel, but he also has some above average speed and there are a lot of guys out there that he can beat if he continues fighting. I think he is the perfect fan fighter TBH because the things he says in the pre-fight buildup always makes his opponents want to kill him come fight night, and also there is always lots of suspense because he can be knocked out, but he normally does his share of damage in the process. People are too quick to dismiss. I don't want to see him retire at all.

I think Jeff was the most honest. What Virgil has to do is help Khan fight where he doesn't get caught in the wrong position. Let's not forget Danny and Breidis are big punchers. Above average for their weight class.
