He didn't particuraly avoid anyone.

Just happens that 95% of people he fought at 135 were unranked bums.

Yes he really tested himself. Even when he lost to Forrest and Wright, I like how he wanted an immediate re-match, so that he could try to redeem himself. Kind of reminds me of Barrera.

Very, very, very underrated fighter & never really gets the credit he deserves. Maybe the fact that ones of boxings best & biggest promoters people look at that & not Oscar the fighter... Idk.

Oscar did fight some pretty average fighters defending his tittle at times. Hagler never fought bums that I am aware of. Hopkins fought the best available. There are lots more of course. Leonard and Duran fought very few bums and Trinidad also fought the best guys that dared to fight him and ducked no one. Hearns never fought bums either. Jose Napoles, Alexis Arguello, Pryor, Sanchez, and many more are champions that rarely if ever fought bums.
