In the 9th it was Del Valle who wobbled Darchinyan..The only round one could say he clearly dominated & won..Darchinyan imposed his experience & all the tricks of trade he has learned threw out his years in boxing to fustrate, confuse & beat Orlandito & Orlandito helped by fighting Darchinyan's fight instead of trying to box & time him from the outside..Good win for Darchinyan & a learning experience for Orlandito to better himself..

Del Valle went for the gold and came up short, but he didn't take the easy route. I, for one, am not impressed with a lot of these undefeated records. Salido had 11 or 12 losses before he beat Juanma, the undefeated record didn't save him. A loss is no disgrace and surviving Darchinyan after he gets going is an achievement. Del Valle still has a future, I agree with you, he just ran into more experience.

Darchinyan was clearly in a class above Del Valle. The only reason the kid didn't get knocked out is because Vic left his power at 115.

Does Vic have any other trainers? I swear "The Rock" is definitely one of them. I was hoping in the late rounds he'd finish Del Valle with the Rock Bottom

i do agree that an undefeated record today is often a product of a padded record, and is usually owned by somebody who doesn't deserve it


that said, showing a chin like that and taking a 10 round beating is not good for your career. you want to learn, but that's doing it the hard way. del valle took an extended beating. you can't take too many of those before you start to wear down.


the most remarkable aspect of the entire fight was del valle's chin. i don't know what the hell kept him not only standing, but virtually unshaken throughout most of those rounds.

Vic always brings it. The only thing he didn't bring was his power but at his age he can't make 115 anymore where he was knocking people out.
