how about viloria if he beats hernan marquez? *edit: just realised the segura win was late 2011, not 2012 -- my bad*

salido is a good shout, and mares could stake a claim if he beats moreno. matthysse, golovkin and broner seem to be the "break-through" fighters of the year, if boxingscene if anything to go by.

ward and martinez are likely candidates, but they have both won it recently, so maybe it will be donaire's turn if he disposes of nishioka without stinking out the joint.
