TOTOWA, NJ - Up and coming light heavyweight superstar, Sergey Kovalev, 19-01, 17 KO's, has signed a multi-year promotional contract with Main Events. The Kovalev camp and the Main Events team are ecstatic about the deal.
Egis Klimas, Kovalev's manager explained, "We are finally in the right place. I knocked on many doors: Golden Boy, Top Rank, and more; However no one took it seriously that Sergey Kovalev will be the next big champion in his weight division. But Main Events has the same beliefs. They did take us seriously. We signed with them and we are very happy with our decision." [Click Here To Read More] |

Fantastic move by Kovalev. This kid is going to be the next star at LHW. Very crafty, high ring iq, devastating power and he's trained by a former world champ who knows how to get to the top.
Shame Campillo couldn't fight, that would of been an explosive fight and the winner would of been looking at a title shot. Campillo needs to get healthy, but Kovalev is going to be in line for a shot soon. Especially fighting under main events, where he's likely to be on plenty of Adamek cards, where he'll recieve excellent exposure. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MJM11GhMGiU |
