Trainer Angel Garcia is still wondering why so many boxing experts believed Amir Khan was a great fighter. Garcia's son, Danny Garcia (24-0, 15KOs), stopped Khan in four rounds on July 14th in Las Vegas. Khan was dropped in the third and twice in the fourth before the contest was stopped.
Going into the fight, Garcia was a huge underdog, and many were expecting a knockout victory for Khan (26-3, 18KOs). I don't think Khan has admitted to himself that he was a weak chin.
You could see him in sparring, showing off, dropping his hands and inviting shots to the head to prove how tough he is. Same thing happened in the Peterson fight against the ropes where is eating shots and show boating. |
