ONLY someone who's NEVER seen or heard of Martinez would think it would have been the other way around..Cause anyone that had already seen Chavez jr & Martinez fight & took a good look at their past opposition, could have easily predicted Saturday night's outcome..It was a NO brainer!!

Yep. Chavez has never been the kind of fighter to throw lots of punches. He has always been a 20-30 punch a round fighter.

He fought the same way he always fights, and it didn't work. I doubt the 2nd fight would be a any different other than Martinez wasting fewer punches.

There was no need for him to throw 78 punchs in a round that chavez threw 14.

Martinez threw 908 punches and Chavez threw 390 punches. That's a great work rate for Martinez and a terrible work rate for Chavez. Martinez is really impressive for any age but a 37 year old fighter throwing almost a thousand punches in a hard fight is amazing. The states show Martinez out landed him in both jabs and power punches in the first 11 rounds. I think a rematch is uncalled for with other good middleweights like Pirog, Geale, and Golovkin wanting to fight Martinez. Chavez should move to 168 and get his punch rate up to 600 or more punches a fight with his style.

It's obvious that Martinez knew he had to let his hands go. Same thing with Pacman/Margarito, (except Martinez & Jr are much better).

When a smaller man engages the bigger man you better let the leather fly. "Treat it like boxing, stick & move, stick & move"!!

Coming into the fight though, everybody was making it seem he'd crush Martinez via nonstop pressure throwing 1000 punches.
I still can't wrap my head around people saying he'd win via decision or KO because he beat Andy Lee
