Two of television’s most innovative brands, HBO and ESPN, have announced a multi-year, multi-tiered boxing programming and marketing agreement. The announcement was made today by ESPN’s Marie Donoghue, senior vice president of global business strategy & development, and Mark Taffet, senior vice president of sports operations & pay-per-view, HBO Sports.

“This agreement is a testament to ESPN and HBO’s leadership in the sports media industry,” said Donoghue. “ESPN continues to provide sports fans with greater access to events across various platforms and this agreement further extends our commitment to serve the fan.”

This is the best news I've heard in a long time! Imagine white Americans can learn more about people like Kelly pavlik and Mike Lee and black sports fans can learn more about Adrien Broner and Andre Ward. We need to bring in other ethnic backgrounds to support boxing. Latinos and Asians are carrying the load right now.

Hopefully this means better fights for both stations. ESPN can take all the one sided HBO showcases, and HBO can put up the big fights and the PPV.

I just hope they don't screw it up.

ESPN needs an English equivalent of Golpe a Golpe. HBO now has Fight Game , but it sucks because it's all Pacquiao and Mayweather.

Boxing do a SH1T JOB reaching different fans and especially YOUNG FANS, they (Promoters, and networks who show Boxing) need to do a better job PROMOTING THE SPORT especially in the US
