Infighter strategy against Brawler?

What does an infighter need to do to win against a brawler?

a good defense all the while acitvely looking to counter, keeping your punches short and compact. A healthy dose of uppercuts and hooks(short of course). Dont let him unload, i.e. be afraid to tie up or get physical. Keep turning him, pivoting and changin angles.

Others can/will probably give you more knowledgable advice, as it is that would be my approach.

Its not so much about the punches like people say, theres no winning combination.

Its about head movement and keeping your guard tight. Theyll love to keep throwing punches around but it wont mean anything if they cant hit you with it, plus they'll be off balance once they miss and wide open. Guards tight for obvious body protection because once they start missing theyll want to try something else.

Lots of bobs/weaves mostly while youre in there close so they can miss, then make them pay with hooks from the left and right angles and uppercuts.

Pretty much weave to your left or right while in front of them and get those angles in with your hooks.

Tight guard isn't optimal imo. I'll smash it and trade. Then again not everyone's got a left or is willing to exchange like that.

Well yeah but you always have to keep your guard tight anyways to avoid body shots. Going back to the trading thing thats pretty much what you'll be doing, except what you're doing youll be landing while hes missing all his.

He throws,
you weave, you throw, weave again
Hell throw and miss,
You throw and weave again
Hell miss

Rinse and repeat.

You might get skimmed but youll be doing more damage and taking less. And most of the time that happens they usually back up realizing there's nothing they can do. Then youre in control once again and can set them up for whatever.
