when i was a kid they were organized differently.

they'd have seal team one here, seal team 2 here and so on.

they'd be base on both coasts and they have different specialties.

seal team six specialty was counter terrorism.

Team 6 is suppose to be like the "Alpha" group. Best of the best, you cant even sign up for it, you get chosen for it from what I know.

i think now you train and qualify as a seal then the best seals go to special warfare development group. the rest go to other seal units.

the dev grp ones are the ones they call seal team six as a nickname.

because the original seal team six was the most infamous of the seal teams.

it's confusing since they combined all the army, air force, navy sf units under socom.

the marines were slick. they said their sf units weren't special forces. they said they were just recon units. lol they got to keep theirs under their command.
