By Jake Donovan - Freddie Evans became the second fighter from hosting nation Great Britain to advance to the finals, pulling off a major upset in securing his invitation to the dance.
Evans rode an early lead all the way to the finish line in pulling out a 11-10 win over top seed and defending World Amateur champion Taras Shelestyuk of Ukraine in Friday's semifinals. The Welsh boxer will face Serik Sapiyev of Kazakhstan in the finals. Sapiyev earned his trip with a decisive 18-12 win over Andrey Zamkovoy of Russia. [Click Here To Read More] |
