Martinez vs. Dzinziruk was for a Diamond belt, and he also defended it against Barker. Please explain this. I would assume that "sanctioning fees" come into play if a title is being defended, correct?

Great so now Nishi's WBC 'regular' belt is gonna get stripped and vacated so some undeserving bums can fight for the vacant title. Same thing happen to Martinez a couple years back. Don Sillyman needs to retire.

Really not sure. i notice on Box Rec how its a side note and different than real regular world title. WBC can be screwy sometimes. But I've read that there are no sanctioning fees and its a honorary title. Not a real one.

i think its possible that the WBC where trying to appease Sergio after stripping him and delaying him from fighting Chavez Jr. Which lead to Sergio renouncing the belt.
