he's much better and less reckless than juanma is but i have always said that amir didn't have good defense and in my opinion it has actually gotten worst under roach

Him and Chisora made the same mistake when opening up and got caught by left hooks. If you watch the two punches Khan landed beofre the 1st KD they were weak shots. What was he doing throwing them in the 1st place.

Defence is as much about knowing when not to throw a certain punch as it is about technique and what not.

Danny Garcia was winging that Left hook all night when Khan threw his right. He should have known it was coming, as it had been coming all night long. The right uppercut is one of the riskiest punches you can throw, especially against someone who's best punch is a left hook.

For all intents and purposes, it should only be used as a counterpunch. Its to dangerous to lead with, and unless you are throwing it with real power behind it, it shouldn't be used in slapping combinations.

Take Bernard Hopkins for example, Hopkins was an offensive machine in his prime but equally as good defensively as he's ever been. Part of this is because while Hopkins made a good habit of keeping his chin tucked in, he also made sure his right shoulder was 2-3 inches above his chin while unveiling the straight right hand, and vice versa when he jabbed.

Khan should cut down on combinations, look to throw single/ very meaningful punches. Also like Hopkins, use his shoulders to cover his chin. For Khan to implement this, it all goes under shadow boxing, muscle memory, a strict trainer who's constantly gonna get at him while he's sparring. Sounds like a stretch but this is what he needs to do because if he continues like this he'll never reach the elite level.

Khan don't have no Head Movement or Slickness to him, he is all Offense and no Defense, no Counter Punching ability or timing either, he just has fast hand...but NOTHING ELSE!

What you guys are saying is true, but it is also true that the more you do - the more mistakes you make. Khan is all over the place when he is fighting, there's too many openings to catch him with.
