I remember Richard Schaefer saying Canelos team wanted Kirkland (probably Mayorga now) in September and Cotto in December on an episode of the fight game is that still the plan?

I kind of feel the same bc I have a hard time seeing GBP letting Canelo get in there with a killer like Cotto.

I think it's more of a logistical issue. Canelo is dead set on fighting in September and Cotto won't fight until December. Can't really fault either guy, but September to December is too quick of a turnaround for Canelo and for the promotion of what would be a huge fight.

And instead of moving a date nobody cares to see him to fight on, he seems deadset on fighting Quintana or Mayorga.
