Arthur Abraham the New IBF Middleweight Champion!!

Arthur Abraham stopped Kingsley Ikeke with a 5th round TKO, this is not the first time Abraham has looked impressive, he has won the IBF Middleweight Championship, and previously he has beaten the top 10 middleweight contenders like Howard Eastman, Hector Velazco, Ian Gardner.

I predicted Abraham would win this fight, and many predicted he would lose. Whats next for Abraham? Possibly a fight of Taylor-Winky winner?

I'm hoping for a defense against someone like Sebastian Sylvester, and then a fight against Sturm, followed by the winner of a proposed Taylor-Wright fight.

        Abraham crushes Ikeke in five

Unbeaten German powerhouse Arthur Abraham won the vacant IBF middleweight title with a hugely impressive fifth round KO of Kingsley Ikeke Saturday night in Leipzig in his native Germany.

Abraham, now 19-0 (17), came of age in June with a points win over former title contender Howard Eastman and he underlined his status as the dangerman of the 160lbs division by completely dominating the highly respected Ikeke.

After breaking down the Top Rank promoted fighter in the first four rounds the German hammered his co-challenger against the ropes and then landed a sickening left hook which ended the fight.

In fact, the ref was trying to stop the slaughter even before Ikeke, 23-2 (13) hit the canvas.

The title was taken off real champ Jermain Taylor for reasons best understood by the IBF. But, while Taylor remains the true champ at the weight, this dangerous German must be considered one of the top three contenders to the crown.

Let's hope he is allowed to fight outside of his native land, in contrast to some of his Germanic predecessors.

          i'll guarentee we'll either see Abraham/Taylor or Abraham/Wright before we see Taylor/Wright

i'm feeling about it is if Abraham wants a fight with either of these two, he better get used to fighting outside of Germany quick. I only saw the fight starting with the 3rd round so i'll have to see the fight again, plus turn down the volume without listening to the pro-Abraham German crowd to really get an idea of the fight.

Its funny how hes not getting any attention yet, hes 24 years old and hes just won the IBF Middleweight title, with a record of 19 wins 17 by Knockouts.

If Ikeke had won, i dont know what would have happened.
