An opinion I respect but disagree with. The sad thing is that in today's day & age I believe both could have been greater, atg even, if they weren't ducked like they were. (And of course that faithful evening with Marg & Mosley for him).

When was the last time Pacquiao relied on his pressure in a fight?

When was the last time Pacquiao forced an opponent to put his back to the ropes (the pressure fighters' playground)?

When was the last time Pacquiao was effective pressuring a fighter (even after the wounded Mosley and Cotto ceded center ring, he just chased them for rounds upon rounds)?

Pacquiao is not a ****ing pressure fighter, he spends too much time in center ring (exactly where he wants to be - where pressure fighters don't (they want their pressure to be felt by having their opponents' back against the ropes)). Matter of fact, Pacquiao looks uncomfortable when he has to put pressure on his opponents, even when he's winning he doesn't seem comfortable doing it. Not only that, but other than the counter right hook he added not too long ago, he's not that good of an inside fighter (not mandatory for a pressure fighter, but as close as you can get to being part of a pressure fighters' essential).

Pacquiao is an ATG, great and worthy of mention in other categories, there's no need to mold him into a fighter that he isn't just to be on his ****. Get off that *****s ****...

The greatest pressure fighters of the last decade (not the last 10 years) are:

Winky
Calzaghe
Margarito

Honorable mention to: Hatton/Castillo/Corrales/Cotto (pre-Margarito built up an excellent record pressuring good fighters into submission)

It's tough to sustain a career as a successful pressure fighter. There are a number of recent pressure fighters that have been derailed after good/great wins and dominant starts (J Diaz, Andrade, Clottey, Abraham, Segura, Rios, Maidana); Rios still has a solid chance to continue a solid career even after the Abril debacle; it's going to be tough for Segura, Maidana, and Abraham, but they still have a decent shot at a solid career especially Abraham, who's probably going to get a WBO title, but be kept at Euro level).

Ward looks to be one of the best pressure fighters of his generation.

Exclamation

PAC is more of an offensive in an out attacker who apply pressure. Wouldnt compare him to margarito type pressure style.

pacquiao no doubt..you dont have to be an inside fighter to be a pressure fighter...you just have to back your opponet up with your attacts and pac is great at that....but that also depends on your opponet like when pac fought another bigger great pressure fighter like marg, it was understandable for him to not do the pressuring...

also, for those who say pac was'nt effective at pressuring shane are wrong...if you are winning easily while making your opponet run like a b1tch , that abolutely means you are effective...very effective...
