Post Comments Thread For: Paul "The Punisher" Williams: A Fearless Warrior Falls

by Cliff Rold - It was arguably the saddest news in boxing since the murder of Vernon Forrest. Paul Williams, the former Welterweight and Jr. Middleweight titlist, was injured in a motorcycle accident. Paralyzed below the waist, he may not walk again.

One week ago, who could have seen this coming? Williams, still rebuilding from a second round knockout loss to Sergio Martinez and a fortunate decision over Erislandy Lara, had the table set for a renaissance. A September date with the hottest young star in the game, Saul Alvarez, was on tap.

It was a fight worth looking forward to. It was a fight Williams could have won.

Now the fighting spirit of Williams will be redirected to another ring in life. Boxing will miss him. Boxing can never get enough like him.

In the wake of Williams plight, the opportunity to pay tribute to what Williams got done in the ring is a worthy endeavor. [Click Here To Read More]

In 2000, in experiments with adult rats they found that inosene caused severed spinal cords to grow fibrws rowards each other and have been impeoving on it since. they may now be ready for human trials.

In 200s using peripheral grafts and heavy doses of chondroitenase they've had encouraging results, again with completely paralysed adult rats, so that within 4 week safter the injury the animalsm were pushing themselves up on theiir forelegs.

As for Paul Williams, think there's some hope, but it won't come in time for his career to be saved. An example of a real tragedy.

Sounds like there's possibly a small chance for Paul to walk again..

Slammin post. No cherrypicking in pursuit of a payday. Fearless warrior is right. Anywhere anytime, he was the Punisher, Paul Williams.

If Margarito had loaded gloves vs Williams he would have smashed his face, you did see them shots he landed in the later rounds in that fight right? It was a legit fight and a great win for Williams. Only crazy guys like Margarito had the balls to fight Williams back then.

Paul Williams as a fighter was cut from a different cloth. There aren't enough fighters like him, willing to fight, willing to put it all out there, and leave it all in the ring.
