If someone gets hit and only the ropes hold them up its a knockdown, which is cöearly what happened. Theres no reason not to give bute the count nad give him a chance to recover however slim that chance may be, hes not getting hit and hes not out cold so why not? If hes still out of it you can wave it off at the end of the count and its all the same except you gave him every reasonable chance to get back in the fight. Excellent job by the ref.
