Why do people compare Manny and Floyd to ATG welters when they are naturally smaller?

Mayweather is arguably the greatest fighter of all time at junior-lightweight.....3 divisions lower than welterweight....Manny's most notable work is at 126-130....both guys are just great fighters who won titles at higher weights, not all-time great welterweights


When comparing them...Its only fair to compare them to fighters naturally their size....thats Like saying Leonard vs Roy Jones at 168, Leonard won a belt their....or Vinny Paz vs Mike McCallum at 154...not fair comparison...Vinny was at best 135-140 and Leonard 147-154

fastasy matchups carose eras as well....they should be in matches with guys from 126-140 at the highest where both were at their peaks...not older past prime and heavier

A lot of 'em fighters are P4P greats, so normally they would compare them to this era's top P4P as well.

They're not rated at welterweight. It's just that alot of spamposters on this board tuned into boxing for the first time within the last 5 or so years.

And the nuthuggers seem to bring out the questions and get their feelings hurt when people tell them that Hearns is all wrong for them. Parts due to size and parts due to style and skills.

Its the same with Robinson and the likes. We compare him with Welters and Middleweights that often cut 20+ lbs due to day before weighins.

you are right....but in someways to me its like a way for some people just to say they lose, arent that great or etc.....Mayweather vs. Arguello at 130 and Manny vs. Sandy Saddler at 126 is more reasonable than Mayweather vs. Robinson at 147 or Manny vs. Hearns 147...is a bit rough...both are at huge disadvantages

But people just can't get enough of thinking how or what could've been if this fighter fought this one from way back, the possibilities are endless.
