I think James Toney was on steroid against Holyfield Jirov and all his fights at that time. How does a guy go from being terrible at 175 to looking like a bodybuilder and knocking out holyfield. then transforming into a fat puke. it doesnt happen naturally.

Come off implying that opinion that anyone who picks Jones likes him better. Why make the thread if you're just going to throw accusations at people who don't agree?

Winky and oscar weren't washed up when you look at the age Hopkins was.
Hopkins is a one of a kind fighter. His age doesn't affect how good his opponents are or what level they're at in their career. Oscar retired after that fight. Winky took a long lay off then came back and got schooled by Williams who he would never have lost to in his prime. Hopkins however, is still fighting at an elite level at the age of 47.

You want to give it to jones because of Toney. Well Toney was not very good at 175. he lost to griffin and a club fighter. He was great at cruiser and heavy but looking at his build against jirov and holyfeild i have to say he was juicing. how does a fat ass like him ll the sudden look like a body builder?
Toney Vs. Jones was a SMW bout, where Toney was ranked #1. He was also #3 P4P a year earlier fighting at the same weight.

This is a body builder?

Can you admit Hopkins fought more name opponents. If not make a list side by side comparison..
Yeah, he fought more bigger names, but not as many as you're making out he did. Also it was you that started ruling them out based on what point they were at in their career. If you take that into account, then...

Chad Dawson 2x --------------- Hopkins 2x
Glen Johnson--------------- James Toney
Kelly Pavlik --------------- Antonio Tarver 3x
Antonio Tarver --------------- Glen Johnson
William Joppy --------------- John Ruiz
Felix Trinidad --------------- Montell griffin
Simon Brown --------------- Virgil Hill
Jermain Taylor 2x --------------- Joe Calzaghe
Jean Pascal 2x --------------- Felix Trinidad
Roy Jones 2x ----------------- Malinga
Joe Calzaghe ----------------- Pazienza
Kieth Holmes ----------------- Griffin 2x
Antonio Tarver

De La Hoya and Winky don't belong. Trinidad is borderline for both

I'm adding the last three for Jones because you've gone ahead and added Holmes, Brown and Joppy.

I don't have any Alt's.

And even if I did, would an Alt of mine ever claim that Bernard Hopkins has a better resume than Roy Jones? Absolutely not.

This right here!

Hopkins made almost ALL his opponents move up in weight. Every big name on Hopkins record moved up a weight class or two. Most of his big names were WELTERWEIGHT fighters. Hopkins has also always been a BIG middleweight, now fighting at light heavy.

Jones has the better record by a mile.

This is exactly my point so why are you arguing?

Winky and Oscar belong you're crazy? listen to yourself. Oscar had many more fights after Hopkins. Winky was coming off a great fight with Taylor and he's just a great fighter period.

Trinidad is borderline for both? how the hell does that make sense? Trinidad was in his prime undefeated against Hopkins. He was nearly 40, 1 fight off a 7 year lay off against Jones.

How the hell does Hopkins biggest win not count? Your throwing out no names to Jones record. Joppy Brown and Holmes were legitimate names. so was john jackson. were you follow boxing in the late 80's early 90's?

On what planet is Simon Brown a legitimate win for Hopkins?
