Default Hitting Hard?(few strength questions)

Ok so i was 116kg i now am 99kg and aiming for 91, would i hit harder at 116 or would i notbecause it wasnt lean body mass?

Another question , i have a very weak core and cant do push ups, my core used to be better but it got weaker because i think its cause im 15 and still growing and i have an easy to benching , i would bench more than everyone i know but yet i cant even do one push up even though its the same movement !

thanks

you punch the hardest at your natural weight. put on too much muscle and you lose more speed than you gain strenght which will lead to loss of power. lose too much weight and you will lose strenght without gaining speed and again lose punching power.

we cant tell you what your natural weight is, newbies come in here all the time asking what weight they should be and we never have nearly enough facts to make that assessment. just judge yourself based on performance instead of weight or how you look in the mirror, try to be the best boxer you can be and you probably will.

power is about technique anyways, dont matter what your body is like if you dont put your body to use when you punch. the core is the most important bodypart for power though, hell probably in general when it comes to boxing. you need a strong core for many reasons so you will have to get on that.

Lifting weights doesnt make you punch harder. Lifting weights does different muscle fibers than the ones that make you punch harder, and contracts your tendons, meaning that you actually punch weaker.

If you have a weak core it doesnt matter. If you only are able to do 15 situps and feel it working you out, then only do 15 sit ups. Every time you do as much as you can you make it stronger then youll be able to do more.

Most punching power comes from technique as stated above, so just work on your form more than anything.

if you can bench press more than everyone else but can't do any pushups then your punch technique must be god awful, no wonder your here asking for advice

lay off the weights for a bit just to have you body fall into balance because it seems you might be a little top heavy

the trick to punching hard is to be strong, and turn your body into shots and most importantly you have to strive to hit hard and practice punching with all your body everyday on the heavybag

another piece of advice, don't listen to the guy saying weights makes you punch weaker

You can bench more than your friends because I bet they're skinny and you've still got some fat on you.

116kg at 15 years old is a high weight, unless you're 6ft+.

Work on losing the rest of your fat, then get down to a boxing gym.

it's all technique, and weights won't make you punch weaker
