Because he isn't a big timer and he really doesn't have a long term future. What can they do with him other than spend money, there is no long run money to be made with him.

Gamboa downed him twice and still with 2 points deducted, won by a pretty wide margin.

But I imagine if Broner struggled with Ponce he would struggle even more with Salido. Salido would just have to chill with some of his wild swinging tho...
